Difficult is the design.
Every collector owns Bushell's Netsuke Familiar and Unfamiliar. Sub title number 38 reads: SIMPLIFIED AND ABSTRACT NETSUKE.

lot number 636 is identified as Crab.
The insciption on the netsuke says it is a "heike Crab".
well it does not look like a crab. It is of abstract design. There are netsuke like that.

We can say, that this netsuke is of abstract design. Who wants to activate his imagination, well a crab, a star, a flower, a wrapped mochi cake.
