I do not particularly like it, I would not swear that it's the real deal and I would certainly not spend that kind of money on it, but the difference with your piece in terms of quality and detail of the carving and of the inlays should be evident.
P.S. Amusingly, shows that the skull I linked above was sold again few months later by the same auction house for a much lower price, evidently something went wrong in the first sale... The page also shows three more examples that are closer in composition to your skull. One of them is described as "late 20th century (...) signed Shozan".
