In his own words….

Hi & Welcome to my Lands End to John O’Groats Cycle trip Blog! I’m Andrew Bromage, a 33 year old guy living in Liverpool, UK. I have always enjoyed Cycling & over recent years have been doing more & more including some short touring trips in Australia, USA & the UK, however I have never done any bigger tours than 250 miles over 5 days, until this summer  when I plan to go for the Ultimate Touring Bike trip in the UK, the very End to End of the UK, A challenging trip covering almost 1000 miles from Lands End to John O’Groats!

While this trip will be quite a challenge for me, I’m not going to break records! I want to try & enjoy it as best as I can, as well as suffer after the days 40th steep climb uphill in Cornwall!  I intend to do it over 18 Cycling days averaging 50-60 miles a day and utilize a route of mainly back roads & B roads avoiding the worst A roads. I will after every 4 days of cycling take at least 1 day off, and I have routed the trip to include visiting my family in Somerset & coming home to Liverpool for a few days on route. Check out the links on the right sidebar to see Google maps of my provisional Day be Day route!

I hope to regularly update this blog during my trip, with many photos & stories from my adventures!

I am going to raise money for Parkinson’s UK – The Charity is working to find a cure & to support & improve the quality of Life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s  My Father has this condition having being diagnosed some 8 years ago at the age of 59, Their support to him has been very valuable & welcome as he lives with the condition. Click HERE togo to my Justgiving Fundraising page for Parkinson’s UK
